The event "Financing for Gender Equality in the Context of Sustainable Development" will bring together Government representatives at the national and local levels, authorities of financial institutions and representatives of organizations of the United Nations System. Throughout the conversations, they will exchange experiences, analysis, and proposals to include gender equality in financing and in initiatives to promote a transformative recovery with equality.

This event aims to: 

  • Share experiences and initiatives promoted in the region to include the gender dimension in the financing of public policies.
  • Analyze from an economic and social perspective the impacts and challenges for gender equality and the empowerment and autonomy of women in the Latin American and Caribbean region in the context of the economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Exchange strategies to consider the gender approach in the analysis of public finances, include the care economy as a key driving force for recovery with equality and promote investments aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals, mainly in SDG 5 and in line with the commitments of the Regional Gender Agenda
