Biografía

Nahuel Arenas is the Chief of the Regional Office for the Americas & the Caribbean at the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). With over 25 years of experience, he has led humanitarian assistance, disaster risk reduction (DRR) programs, and development cooperation across Latin America & the Caribbean, Africa, and the Asia Pacific region.

Before joining UNDRR, Mr. Arenas was the Director for Humanitarian Programs and Policy at OXFAM USA. He has also worked with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Action Against Hunger (ACF), and consulted for UN-Habitat. Additionally, he has contributed to capacity-building programs, including the Harvard X / Harvard Humanitarian Initiative Course. His academic background includes Public Policy (FLACSO), International Politics (SOAS, Univ. of London), and Crisis Management (Universidad Complutense of Madrid).
