Forum of the Countries of Latin America and the Caribbean on Sustainable Development 2026

Elkin Velásquez leads strategic initiatives related to the implementation and territorial and urban localization of the SDGs and the Paris Agreements. At the same time, he coordinates UN-Habitat programs in the region aimed at implementing the New Urban Agenda, while promoting partnerships to build regional public goods and increase financing opportunities for sustainable urban development and the inclusion of its communities, as tools to reduce poverty and urban inequalities and to accelerate a more territorially distributed economic development.
